It subsequently transferred to Chicago and Broadway the following year, winning the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. In 1992, it was adapted into a feature film, which was met with critical acclaim.

Shinichi Tsutsumi stars as Shelley Levene, a once-successful salesman who has fallen on hard times and is now desperately struggling to make sales. Takahiro Hamada stars as Richard Roma, a sharp-witted and charismatic real estate salesman whose exceptional powers of persuasion have made him one of the firm's top closers.
Joining them are acclaimed actors Kosuke Suzuki, Yasuyuki Maekawa, Ryo Iwase, Kazushige Komatsu, and Hiroyuki Ikeuchi, who come together to take on David Mamet's masterpiece.

STORY
At a Chicago real estate office, sales performance determines everything. Salesmen who fail to deliver results are ruthlessly cast aside. Faced with the threat of dismissal, each man fights desperately to survive.
Shelley Levene (Shinichi Tsutsumi), once the company's top salesman but now in decline, pleads with office manager John Williamson (Kosuke Suzuki) for access to a list of promising sales leads that could help him close a deal.
Meanwhile, Dave Moss (Hiroyuki Ikeuchi), increasingly frustrated with the company, pressures George Aaronow (Kazushige Komatsu), who fears losing his job, into helping him steal the customer leads.
Richard Roma (Takahiro Hamada), a master salesman whose persuasive charm has won him deal after deal, aggressively pitches a piece of land to James Lingk (Ryo Iwase).
Just then, the office is broken into, and valuable customer leads and sales contracts are stolen. Detective Baylen (Yasuyuki Maekawa), assigned to investigate the case, suspects an inside job and begins questioning the salesmen.
