本展をご鑑賞いただいたペッカ・オルパナ駐日フィンランド大使からメッセージを頂戴しました。

 

私は昨年の12月10日、妻とBunkamuraザ・ミュージアムにて開催中の「ザ・フィンランドデザイン展」を見に行きました。本展覧会は、私たちが生活の中で目にし、共に生き続けてきた様々な作品を通じ、フィンランドデザインの歴史の旅へと誘う感動的なものでした。作品のほとんどは私たちにとって身近なものでしたが、展示の順路、設置方法、編成が素晴らしく、展示作品のデザインの進化における新たな視点と理解を与えてくれました。また、シンプルさに存在する美しさ、機能の普遍性、デザインの基盤とフィンランドの歴史、自然と国民の繋がりを感じました。皆さまも同じように感じたとすれば、フィンランド人と日本人の感性が似ていることを意味しているでしょう。

We visited with my wife the Finnish Design for Everyday Life – exhibition in Bunkamura Museum 10^th of December 2021. The Exhibition is absolutely impressive journey to the history of Finnish design covering in different materials objects we have been living with and observing throughout  our lives. Most of the works  were familiar to us, but the wonderful setup, sequencing and compilation of them gave also us new perspectives and understanding of the evolution of our design, its beauty in simplicity, the omnipresence of  functionality, and of its fundamental connection to our history, nature and to the human characteristics of us Finns.  If Japanese visitors feel connected to what they see in the exhibition, and I wish and believe you do, it means that in many ways Finnish and Japanese  human characteristics must also be connected.
