The Royal Court Characterized by Harmonized Elegance and Comfort

Liechtenstein is the only country in the world named after the family name of the ruling monarch. Although it is a small country situated between Switzerland and Austria, Liechtenstein holds one of the most extensive private art collections in the world. Its brilliance is sometimes referred to as a jewel case and boasts global presence.
This exhibition comprises about 130 works from the princely collection, including works by Rubens, Jan Brueghel the Elder and Lucas Cranach the Elder and feature mainly the Northern Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo works, as well as porcelain works, featuring those from Vienna Porcelain Manufactory that are strongly influenced by the tastes of some of the most prominent aristocrats in Europe. The co-starring of painting and porcelain allows us to take a peek into the lives of nobles in which elegance and comfort harmonize.
